District Manger Meeting December 9, 2016

My mentor was not aware when exactly the district manager was going to stop by to make the weekly check, but it turned out to be that she came on Friday right when I was almost off from work. Like I had mentioned in my previous blog, I have never met the district manager before which is exciting and scary at the same time. My mentor had us introduce each other and he also introduced the idea to her that I would be working with both of them just for that day. Her name is Nicole and she seemed to be strict, but she was nice. I got to learn a lot from that meeting that I never really knew about before just being a brand representative of the company. They started off the meeting by my mentor letting her be aware of the customers' sale consumptions we have reached from the past few weeks, especially having it be Black Friday not too long ago. He said that we were where we needed to be considering that sales have still been pretty high even after Black Friday. There a system software in which they're able to see the company's plan that it has for our specific location. It is called the Link. On the link you can see everything from what percentage our sales our at to if sale goals have been met everyday. The district manager was glad to see that our store made it to the Top 3 regional Bay Area sale shops. The were also speaking about associate management to see who got hired and how many hours they've been given to work this past month and what the schedule might be looking like for the next week. She believed the schedule to be almost perfect, but she thought it it would be best to add a few extra hours. After doings so, we moved on to floor sets. She also approved of the closet and table sets that were moved, but she also thought that we needed to fill in more clothes that have not been brought out yet. Overall the check off was good and she approved of everything. What I learned from her is that you must really like what you're doing while you're doing it because thats the key to success. When you come into work with a good attitude, it increases the sales by a good percentage believe it or not. This happens to be so because when you come in with a good attitude, you tend to be more resourceful with assistance, not only for the store but also the customers. That was like a general message that she told me about that is effective at all jobs. Based on her job and the things she does I learned a lot too. She has to travel to seven different stores in the Bay Area and make that everything is in place. As a district manager, her responsibilities is to advice the store in what they need to do, what they need to change, and what objectives need to be met. If something's not working out or sales are poor then she must make sure that the store manager and her come up with a resolution that overall all employees must help collaborate with. Well that was all for that day. Through it all I was able to help the store manager add extra hours to the schedule. I was to help make the calls to see who can come in or who can't. And we were successful because almost everyone was collaborating to have be placed on the extra hour shifts. I also helped the stock lead and representative pick out the new clothes that were to be brought out.
