District Manger Meeting December 9, 2016

My mentor was not aware when exactly the district manager was going to stop by to make the weekly check, but it turned out to be that she came on Friday right when I was almost off from work. Like I had mentioned in my previous blog, I have never met the district manager before which is exciting and scary at the same time. My mentor had us introduce each other and he also introduced the idea to her that I would be working with both of them just for that day. Her name is Nicole and she seemed to be strict, but she was nice. I got to learn a lot from that meeting that I never really knew about before just being a brand representative of the company. They started off the meeting by my mentor letting her be aware of the customers' sale consumptions we have reached from the past few weeks, especially having it be Black Friday not too long ago. Today was the first day I worked with the store manager as my mentor at Hollister. It was very easy to interact with him, but I was only nervous because he taught me his responsibilities by having me help him with those tasks that he does on a daily basis. In a way, you can say that he gave me the authority to seek the world of store managing myself but only by his instructions. My major responsibility today was to observe the store associates and ask of them to do certain tasks that the store manager had in mind for them to do. I was to make sure that associates would stick with responsibilities of their own such as greeting, following up with, and thanking people. Along with those responsibilities of theirs, they had to split those attentions with what I had for them to do. Closet and table sets had to be switched from one room to another, and everyone had to collaborate with one another, especially brand representatives.
